Today, the Rijeka’s Town or Obod is a whole consisting of several houses, the church of St. Nikola and the remains of what is considered to be the former foundation of the Crnojević Printing House.
Unlike today’s look, the Rijeka’s Town has played much more significant roles throughout history – in the period from 1475. to 1482. Ivan Crnojević choose this elevation above Rijeka Crnojević as the seat of his state , and for a short time the Monastery of St. Nicholas was also the seat of the Zeta Metropolitanate. The monastery was destroyed in the wars with the Turkish Empire in 1692, and the church of St. Nikola was built on the same site in 1743.
